This class is an introduction to sports massage. Techniques for field events, such as races, as well as other sporting events will be shown. Injury prevention will also be addressed. This is a fun, exciting and invigorating form of massage.

Carriers and Butters Class

February 25 8CE's 9am - 5pm

Interested in learning how to increase the healing benefits of bodywork with carriers you may never have heard of? This class will introduce you to 12 carriers and their therapeutic properties. You will learn how to make infused oils (macerations), body butters and trauma butters and leave with a wealth of knowledge along with samples of the products we make during the class.

Law and Ethics

March 5 & 12 8CE's 6pm - 10pm

We will review current local, State, and Federal laws and regulations regarding the practice of massage, bodywork, and somatic therapy. Ethics discussions, both in the office and in the professional environment, will focus on issues of confidentiality, sexual misconduct, financial misconduct, boundary issues, conflicts of interests, and appropriate referrals.

NCBTMB Exam Review

March 10 9am - 5pm

This one-day review class will briefly cover all content areas that will be included on the National Certification Exam for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCETMB). Topics will include: Major body systems, anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, pathology, therapeutic massage and bodywork assessment and application, and professional standards, ethics, business and legal practices. Purchase of an exam review book for practice testing is recommended, but not required.

Geriatric Massage

March 10 8CE's 9am - 5pm

This class will discuss the issues of age and aging, guidelines and considerations for safe practice and the differentiations of patterns common to older adults.   There will be hands-on techniques using Acupressure points, location and use; protocols for stress releases of common areas such as low back; and simple self-help points to teach the client.

Intro to Cranial Sacral Therapy

March 17 - 18 16CE's 9am - 5pm

An introduction class using a subtle, non-intrusive, hands-on technique to address the balance between cerebrospinal fluid pressure, which surrounds and moves through the brain, spinal cord, skull bones, sacrum and connecting membranes. (This course is only offered when available)

CPR For Adults

April 10 9am - 2:30pm

Participants are trained to recognize and care for life-threatening respiratory or cardiac emergencies in adults and are provided the knowledge and skills needed to care for injury or sudden illness until professional medical help arrives. Training complements adult learning styles with hands-on practice and real-life scenarios while take-away materials serve as excellent refresher tools after training is complete. This comprehensive course meets training guidelines for first aid programs established by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration

Intro to Myofascial Release

This course introduces the student to Myofascial Massage Techniques which directly influence the connective tissues of the body, both superficial as well as the deep layers.

Intro To Prenatal Massage

April 24 4CE's 9am - 1pm

In this class, the student will learn what happens to a woman’s body during pregnancy and how massage can benefit the expectant mother. Contraindications will be discussed as well as massage during pregnancy, labor and postpartum. Proper draping, support and techniques are also discussed and practiced.
