Course Work
During the 100 hour Neuromuscular Therapy program, origins, insertions and actions of muscles to be treated will be revisited. Stressors, perpetuating factors and trigger point pain referral patterns will be emphasized. Demonstrations will be shown and application of NMT techniques will be performed.
This course is based on Dr. Janet Travell's groundbreaking study of pain referral patterns. Dr. Travell discovered that nearly every muscle in the body has a specific region or "trigger point" that, when sufficiently irritated, will cause pain to be referred to a specific area of the body. The practical applications of these techniques are learned through extensive hands-on practice.
